Aluminum Casting

After attending the Hot Metal Artist residency at Franconia sculpture park in 2018, my interest in metal casting was reignited; I used to work at a foundry way back in 2000, but took 20 years off to pursue digital tools (and nurse a back injury) . With the help of Kay Dartt, Dustan Creech, and Eric Fuertes, I ran a couple metal pours around Chicago with borrowed equipment, then graduated to a 55-gallon drum furnace that I built with a team of Columbia College students.
